There was a COPO found somewhere around Atlanta, about 15-20 years ago. It was badged and painted as a Z, and the guy who bought it did not know what it was, until someone clued him in. I think it still had some big block stuff on it- maybe heater box, can't remember. Then he checked the rear, and it was a BE.

Mine just had the Z-stripes, still retained the bowtie badging. Was being used as a street machine from 1978 until I bought it in 2018. I wasn't even sure I bought a COPO until I consulted folks on this site with my suspicions.
