COPO Camaro from Mac's
Hey guys, thanks for the add! i'm currently restoring a 9561 69 COPO Camaro for a customer. The car was shipped to Mac's originally according to NCRS data and I was hoping to get some history/info/pics regarding the dealership. i can't even find the address. This car was shipped to Mac's but i've talked to the original owner who says he bought it in Lincoln, NE. There were two dealerships in Lincoln....Misle and DuTeau...he doesn't recall which dealership it was. ANY info -especially photos- of Mac's, Misle, or DuTeau that anyone may have would be greatly appreciated.

I hope the VIN is not 124379N601701.

Bill,
Thanks! I forgot about that pic! |
Kool pic, all COPOs and one Z28?

Yep, ducted hoods and no engine emblems. Actually, 9 COPOs if we count ZL1 #22 N609690. I guess what remains of it is buildable.
L72 COPO survival is about 1/2 of the 997 built. Still a bunch around, built up as Z/28s or street machines. Noticed one on ebay last summer; a bud picked it up right. Axle still there. Saw a Le Mans blue Z/28 at SC-Indy 2001 with a repro X33D80 body tag. If they copied the body number from the original tag correctly, it was likely a Glockner Chev COPO. ZL1s are doing much better. Now at 50 surviving cars with the recent addition of #45. Fairly certain at least 4 others still exist. |

Looking forward to hearing more about your Copo Jeremy, welcome aboard! According to the linked Camaros.net thread, the Silver ZL1 is in the picture background? Looks like a '69 Camaro behind the Red Pickup between a '69 Toro and a Cutlass?:hmmm: :beers: ~ Pete . |
