i have a 1978 pontiac 400 HO. it came with 6X heads. i have been told that they are a 101 cc head.
i want to get the most performance with spending the least amount of money. i also do not want to exceed a 10:1 compression ratio. what i have been told to do is get a set of heads with a 72 cc combustion chamber and that will boost my compression ratio and give me much greater performance. if i should do this what heads should i use? and am i going to be able to get them at a salvage yard? also i wanted to know if any of the hardware from the 1978 6X heads would swap out into any other pontiac heads with smaller combustion chambers. i do not want to just get rid of my 6X heads because i put around $400 into them about 2 years ago. my last question is should i just drop the compression increase idea and buy a edelbrock intake or a performace ignition? Any help will be much appreciated! |
