I believe that is the case -that this was done by Holley back when this carb was made. I got this carb this way from a guy on ebay who had no clue as it was listed with a Holley 2818 car as Mustang Holley cores. I purchased it with the buy it now and took the chance that it was the real deal. I sent Eric many pictures to verify it once I got it. The base was all plugged and hacked on and Eric was lucky enough to find me a good base for it. If I look even closer at the grind out I think it was 732, but cant say for sure. This is the real deal and I have never seen another. I have since sold my 67z/28 that was sold in California, hince the smog carb was correct. At the time of the sale I offered this carb to the buyer of the car at a very fair price, but he was not interested. The is the holy grail of all Holleys in my opinion.
I'll post some pics as found. I wish I would have copied the original ebay ad. The following pics are the exact same ones I sent to Eric to verify it.
