You can get gears for the axle... but it won't hold up... we used to drag race them when they were new and ended up putting Strange 12 bolts or Currie 9" in them...
They are notoriously weak!

There were two different rear ends offered in the IROC's. The 9 bolt and the 10 bolt. The 9 bolt is the stronger of the two. If you plan on being in the 12's, 10 bolt will let go on you.
