You decoded it perfectly above. As has been stated the 9 represents the model year vehicle this was used in , Not the calendar year it was built.

[/ QUOTE ] I would bet that the trans came out of a 69 camaro, since production was extended until Nov of 1969. Again camaros built in this time frame were still considered 1969 model year camaros. The VIN is what identifies the year in which it was built. The Vin most likely starts with 69xxxx or 70xxxx.

This is stamped PR14B (Muncie, Oct 14th, M21) The 702xxx VIN derivative indicates trans was built for a Norwood camaro built in late Oct of 69.
