It is an original 4 Bolt main block with the big plug on the side above the oil filter. The car has all of the original untouched Single fuel line, original BB Heater core, original correct Radiator,.I have verification coming form the original owner of the car who I spoke with yesterday for a long time about the car.

It would be nice for all rare Hi-Po cars to have paperwork, but this just always is not the case.
I'm not the only one who has sold Real and original drivetrain non paperwork cars, with owner history for market value. There may also be other important clues to the Hi-Horse Status of this car, all of which, of course, could have been replaced, but much better to inspect on a surviving type car. Original Fuel sending unit would have only 3/8 line. If tachometer present then 6,000-7,000 Redline. TH400 Trans with CX tag and Special Converter. Deep Grove Pulleys. 772 Fan Blade/date. An original Fan Clutch will have an ink code. 499 Distributor/ Date Radiator Tag will denote if Hi-Po. The original Title app may also denote the highest HP rating. While not fool proof or 100%, it can still be a clue. Looks like a very cool and Rare Pace Car! Good luck with the sale. ![]() |

There are Survivors and then there are Survivors. This Survivor needs to be restored in my mind.
Great car to reproduce ALL the markings for the resto guy !! Me personally, I sell cars with Pedigree(#'s,paperwork, etc)when I mention that something is missing on a Rare Muscle car,its usually OVER. I guess I'm a weak car salesmen !! Got to believe in what your selling. ![]() Cool Car !!

This car has been around for a while now. I know several major players including myself have been offered the car. I agree with Rich P. in that it definately needs a full blown $75k-$100k resto. Lot of money to put into a car with no paperwork and questionable motor. p.s. Did you know the term "Survivor" is trademarked belonging to Bloomington Gold

I don’t normally comment on negative posts on this site but when they are factually inaccurate and misleading I feel compelled to. I have no financial interest in this car. I was there when it was pulled out of the barn in late May. The car has been around a wile but a very short wile. I was asked by Roy to shop the car around privately. However, SIR-VIVOR you were never offered the car by me or Roy. You may have been offered the car by some un-known third party. You have never spoken to Roy or me about this car. I also know for a fact that you have NEVER personally inspected this car or arranged to have the car inspected and I don’t believe you have ever even seen this car in person. Maybe a passing glance to Autorama but that would be the extent of your knowledge of this car. So, for you to state the engine is questionable as if you have first hand knowledge of that fact is…well questionable, misleading and inaccurate. I think we both know where you are getting your information and it is third hand at best.
After speaking to the original owner as well as the salesman that sold the car to the original owner I have no doubt that docs verifying this as an original L78 Pace Car exist and will be re-united with the car very soon. Just wanted to set the record straight with facts not third or fourth handed hearsay.

My L89 Pace Car is real and I invite anyone to come to Erie to do a thorough numbers/date check. UNQUESTIONABLE original front pad, easily readable VIN. Clear undisputed history from new, Lamb Chevrolet, Prescott, AZ selling dealer. I restored in 2001. Had at GM Carlisle in 2002 in building, a lot of you guys saw it then. Oh ya, 3 pedals. Good story on my find, I'll get to it soon and send in some pics. Just last week poured over by Chris P.

I'll take Georges! Rick, you must not know who I am. We had someone inspect the car, and had a deal on it 'til it was offered "Available" at the Houston Autorama. Good luck with the sale!
