I never saw him in person,but he sure was promoted highly on our local US30 Dragstrip radio ads during the summertimes back then,with the announcer constantly echo screaming.."SEE ART ARFON"S GREEEEEEEEEEEN MONSTER!"

One of the first guys to bolt a military surplus jet engine onto four wheels. I've got Kin Folks in Akron that live not far away from Art and have told me of his antics and engineering skills.
A true craftsman way ahead of his time. His Green Monsters have etched the racing history books. R.I.P. Mr. Arfons.
