It's been repainted and has a non-born with motor for a different trans... so what? It's a nice car from what I can tell, and there is first hand knowledge of its local heritage from a reputable board member. To me that speaks volumes and has more weight than any easily corrected imperfections. If your girlfriend is looking for an investment or a 990-point car, that is one thing, but if she is going to drive it to shows and have fun with it, I would have to say pursue!
I've had a couple a these '73s and without the 780 Holley they don't load up and are more manageble in traffic, and no solid lifters that require attention. When you put your foot in that quadrajunk, the car make noise and goes fast. And yes, but of mine had that air cleaner. JB |

-----I did notice after looking at the pics again that the floors in the one pic do look very nice. Hard to find any northern old car with floors PERIOD, much less nice rust free floors. I had an automatic, RS, black 73 Z in 75. Car was delivered new in dark green as the original purchaser wanted an all black Z and the factory wouldnt take the order. It was painted black after being pulled off the truck brandy new. It also had Firestones and was a great driver. Oh,,,and I do value Georges opinion very highly!!!!!!!!!!........Bill S

Are the door panels correct for a 73? I like the color.

I'm not questioning the car, just the wording of the ad. ![]() [/ QUOTE ] You may not agree but I don't see a repaint and a motor change qualify as a "survivor" car. Again, I am not making any judgements on this car, just finding current day descriptions in ads carelessly using terms that no longer mean what they did twenty or ten years ago. ![]() Lawyereze. |

Im no so sure the car began life as a Z/28. I would love to see the trim tag and many more under side picks. [/ QUOTE ] The "T" in the VIN denotes a true Z28, so the trim tag should indicate the same. For me a "Survivor" 18k mile car that has had the engine replaced along with a new coat of paint, doesn't qualify as a survivor car anymore. For only 18k miles, it must have been a rough ride. This car should be in near showroom condition with that mileage. |
