For sure, the paint under the hood on the inner fenders is not even close to matching the exterior.
Also, what is up with those stripes? |

Im no so sure the car began life as a Z/28. I would love to see the trim tag and many more under side picks.

how do you call a vehicle "18000 mile unrestored documented survivor " and then say this in the same desription; "IT COULD BE A REPLACEMENT MOTOR I DONT KNOW" is that OK?
I'm not questioning the car, just the wording of the ad. ![]() |

Car has been here in Erie Pa. from day one, original owner is available, A real Z without question, nice older lacquer repaint in orig color, great orig interior, NEVER any rust, non orig motor but a '73 automatic Z motor strangely enough, miles are likely correct as car seldom driven over the years, correct trans & rear. Overall a really nice little car but it is what it is. I know who is selling it but I have nothing to do with the sale, just advising our members.

The air cleaner might be original. My dad had a 73 Z28 that he bought new off of the showroom floor and it had that air cleaner from the factory. The factory tires were Firestone Wide Oval's instead of Goodyears also.

That air cleaner is correct. Several small things under the hood are incorrect but could easily be corrected. Lines are there but can't see the charcoal canister on driver's side. Amazing the seat belt buckles haven't exploded, very common on these cars. Same creases in drivers' seat upholstery as my car. Mine's a white RS, stripe delete, auto with 16k miles. These L82 cars are nice drivers and still have plenty of zip....just a tick slower than a '70 in 1/4.

QUOTE: how do you call a vehicle "18000 mile unrestored documented survivor " and then say this in the same desription; "IT COULD BE A REPLACEMENT MOTOR I DONT KNOW" is that OK?
**** PLEASE READ THE BELOW PARTIAL EBAY AD AGAIN FOR THIS CAR!!!**** vehicle description: 1973 CHEVROLET Z/28 CAMARO UNRESTORED CAR WITH 18110 DOCUMENTED MILES. THE MOTOR CODE COMES UP AS A 73 Z/28 245 HP. BUT THERE IS NOT A VIN STAMPED ON THIS BLOCK ANY PLACE. IT COULD BE A REPLACEMENT MOTOR I DONT KNOW. SO I AM NOT SELLING THIS CAR AS A NUMBERS MATCHING CAR. First off, according to the E-bay ad, the seller is specifically noting the mileage as documented. Calling the car unrestored, well it most likely had a motor change so the seller indicates. I guess it all depends on what the seller considers "restored" or "unrestored". Is the paint original?? Who knows, the seller does not specify but it would be worth asking. The engine compartment, undercarriage and interior look original. Yes, the engine compartment could need some "sprucing up", but we have all seen worse have we not?? In response to the word "survivor", yes I think it is a "survivor" muscle car. I guess it is all in the way people define "survivor" and how you interpret the meaning of the word. In my opinion this appears to be a nice car/driver and with some minor detailing work could be a "real nice car" and or driver. I find nothing in the E-Bay ad that appears to me as deceiving. I think the seller advertises the car truthfully. Hey, the seller is saying that the motor has no VIN stamped on it and is unsure if it is a replacement block. It very well could be or maybe it is just a correct year block that the VIN numbers on the engine pad meant nothing to the owner of the motor at one time and had them decked off at a machine shop!! Who really knows, at least it is not some BOGUS and ILLEGAL RESTAMPED BLOCK that the seller is trying to fraudulently pass off as being 100% correct!! We all know that it is VERY POSSIBLE to have a low mileage muscle car that does not retain its original drivetrain.. How many of these things were blown up back in the day racing them or the motors were swapped out or traded?? I'm sure lots were!! You can't argue that!! Guys, I am not trying to play Devil's Advocate here responding to some of the responses on this car, I just think it is a good looking car, and if Andy's girlfriend really likes it, it may be worth looking into further.. Thats my 2 CENTS!!! Rich ![]()
