Thanks Stefano for sharing your experiences.Sounds like you are beating this beast which is great to hear. I am hoping to do the same. Like my wife says I went from a race horse that could out work two men and a boy to a donkey over night that a baby could whip.
I know what the monte I parted was and wish I had of left it together. Same time it was just driven daily through all of the severe NS winters with all of our salt on the roads so it was rusted to death.
I talked about it last night with my brother who at the time was living home and helped me part it. He remembered me tossing the rear since it was not posi and didnot have even 308 gears and the fact it had no smog and no heat stove to the air cleaner.
I am not going to up set the GODS once again with your 69 pontiac 4spd 428 but like you I know that car also existed. Not going to mention names but did you sell yours to a guy that curently has a real nice restored 69 442 and a 71 4spd olds. If not he has one also original that he is restoring and we have been in contact when he was looking for parts since there was a guy with one of them up here at that time.I remember it well since it was the first GM car I had seen with a electric rear defogg which was pretty cool in a 69.
Rick you are right about the docs for the canadian car.Like I said we have to get into the stuff eventually so now I have two blocks to look for. The one out of the 70 monte 4spd and the 4 bolt 512 oval port out of the 70 Impala.

In our village there's a guy who owns a '71 SS454 Monte with a 4 spd. and level air suspension. He has a photocopied window sticker that he displays with it, but I heard the car was an auto then tranformed into a 4 cogger but it's hard to say unless it's a Canadian ordered car that a person could get the info on right from the source. Did you know that on the emblem of the knight's visor that the year of the Monte's is wrote in Roman numerials? Kinda cool Monte trivia.
