We put a 1970 360 hp 455 in our '72 Lemans. It has a 230 degree .480" lift cam and headers. The 235 70 Goodyears radials are no traction at all. It will light the tires just getting onto it in low gear at 25-30 mph. 60-90 mph it will pull our L78 Chevelle by 2 1/2 car lengths so it isn't all bottom end power. These engines were rated at 500 ft lb of torque from the factory. Most people don't realize the performance to be had from a Pontiac.
