If your going to have a big off like those two chaps did,that's a car you want to be in.It's designed to dissipate energy by breaking apart during impact.Triple digit miscues are more similar to aircraft crashes-take it from someone who was a paid crash test dummy for years! Make no mistake luck played a big part in both these.In the Malibu example,that pole impacts 12" forward of the B pillar (instead of behind) and all the carbon fiber in the world would not have saved him.The Utah one looks like he hooked it off the apron-the car did it's job,but he just as easily could have suffered a broken neck since i'm assuming he wasn't wearing a HANS.Driving talent is a term relative to frame of reference,which is not meant to disparage his in any way.JMHO
