Actually, the owner/driver was Richard Losee, somebody whose driving I would trust as much as I do my own (which might not be saying much https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/blush.gif)

He is a very experienced and professional driver who had driven the crashed Enzo almost 35,000 miles. Yes, he obviously has lots of money, but I think it is unfair to look at what is clearly an unfortunate accident and say "another idiot with more money than brains".

I too have learned that money and brains do not always go hand in hand, but, in some cases there are true car guys that are very skilled drivers that sometimes have bad stuff happen. Look at professional drivers in CART or NASCAR that crash all the time. They have lots of money, but we don't call them idiots when they crash, do we?

I don't know Losee personally, but, I think it sucks that a guy that actually has the balls to really DRIVE his Enzo as a daily driver as well as race it had this happen. The good news is he survived and will live to race again.

Just my humble opinion. Too often these days it feels like the car hobby is filled with predjudice...we all need to realize that no matter what the value level or the types of cars, we are a lot more alike than we are sometimes apt to think.

Boy these cars sure disinigrate when they crash. I wonder how a muscle car would look like after a crash at that speed? It wonder if these supercars have to be crash tested before they're let out to the public, but i guess if the guy survived and the car did'nt it says something for the driver pod.

They are a carbon fiber tub, like an F1 car. I am not a big fan of Enzos, I personally think the last "real" Ferrari was the F40, BUT I do have to say that the Enzo looks like a good car to be in if you plan to crash at 200 mph. https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...emlins/eek.gif

Now, as far as idiots and Enzos are concerned, please refer to the Enzo crash in Malibu with Eriksson, the guy on the run for embezzling millions from his "company". Car clipped a concrete light pole at 150+ MPH, cuts the car in two, and the guy walked away. Not bad! If your going to have a big off like those two chaps did,that's a car you want to be in.It's designed to dissipate energy by breaking apart during impact.Triple digit miscues are more similar to aircraft crashes-take it from someone who was a paid crash test dummy for years! Make no mistake luck played a big part in both these.In the Malibu example,that pole impacts 12" forward of the B pillar (instead of behind) and all the carbon fiber in the world would not have saved him.The Utah one looks like he hooked it off the apron-the car did it's job,but he just as easily could have suffered a broken neck since i'm assuming he wasn't wearing a HANS.Driving talent is a term relative to frame of reference,which is not meant to disparage his in any way.JMHO

I had a friend with a 69 Z/28 and he hit a bridge abutment
at 80 MPH. The car disintegrated into little pieces and he
only broke his leg and he wasn't even wearing a seat belt.

Another guy in the neighborhood had a 1070 Challanger ( 440 c.i. )

salvage the two front seats for a project car. The drivers
seat was to twisted - it was un-repairable.

Cars from the Muscle Car era were not really engineered to
survive bad crashes. I don't know if they even crash-tested

designed to collapse during impact, there were no energy
absorbing anythings, ........ The fact that this guy got
out alive is a testimony to how well the car is engineered.

If I was the Ferrari Company, I'd have the wreck images framed
