springfield illinois collection wrecked

All is well in Chatham, Illinois the storm missed us by several miles. Unfortunately Judi and I were in a restaurant in Springfield when it hit. We were about two city blocks away from one of the areas that suffered major destruction. Judi's ears were ringing and popping due to the sudden drop in barometric pressure and you could see the windows in the restaurant bowing in and out. Really scary, but all is well.
Don't know Doug Edwards or his cars and haven't talked with anyone that does. Looked his address up and he lives in one of the hardest hit areas.

Welcome back stranger! Glad to hear you both escaped any damage or injuries.

You sent me the new address and phone numbers but I "Filed them away in a safe place", and can't retrieve them yet........ (different system at home!)

We've been meeting Annie about once a month for dinner. Care to join us sometime? We need some NEW stories!

Glad to hear you two made it out ok as that was too close! I understand the hotel I stayed at suffered severe damage as well as the restaurant and the Wal-Mart next door.

Rick, check out this site http://www.sj-r.com/. There is a picture of your hotel there. It takes a while to load as so many people are looking at the photos.

Wow! Thanks for the link Don. What a mess! I think the next time Chad and I stay at the Fairfield we need to keep the partying to a minimum. I knew we made a mess but that is crazy. Very scary and too d*mn close for all you Springfield people! Glad everyone is alright.

I think Mother Nature has flexed her muscles enough for awhile....between huricanes and tornadoes the damage has been incredible. Safe travels and best wishes too all who have felt her power.

We spent the better part of Sundy night in the basement. No damage to the town itself but many of the neighboring communities were hurt pretty badly. A friend who bought my '68 Corvette lost the roof and most of the second floor of their house. They escaped injury but the house may not be repairable. Heard they may have also lost a couple of buildings and an airplane. No word on how the car is.

I now see you had your phone numbers with your profile. Just a dumb mistake on my part. Oh well; nothing new there!

We'll give you a call around the first of the month. I think our next get-together is April 7th, but will check and let you know.
