Yes. Fifth digit of the VIN must be an "R" (ram air/shaker) or "Q" (non ram air/regular air filter) for the 335hp 428 Cobra Jet FE style motor. Most of them were M code 351's that year, so check it out. Partial VIN # would be on the back of the engine, below the driver's side cylinder head. I don't believe Ford was real consistent during this time frame, as both my '70 Q-code Mach and my buddy's '69 R-code were purchased from 1st and 2nd owners, respectively, had unmolested, date coded motors, but no VIN stamps. As stated, the Marti report is cheap insurance here, for 15 or 20 bucks they'll fax you the documentation on how it was optioned when new.
