In my opinion I think you should let run and see what happens. $6999.00 seems a little steep in my opinion.

Just a few months ago, there was a brand new, still in the crate L-78 396/375HP short block that sold for less than $2000 on the 'bay. The last time you ran this didn't you say there was a local offer of around 5K? That's pretty good money.

Rick, I think it is a little presumptuous that you "want" me to sell it for less. I want a Real CoPo for under 80k, but I would never presume to tell someone that they had to sell it for less than what they wanted. I would make an offer that I thought was fair (nothing wrong with that)and that would be that. If they did not accept, then I would either go up on my offer, or walk away. Seems as if some people are "mad" that I will not sell this block for less than I want for it. If you are interested, then make an offer. If it was a person who gave me advice or helped me here or otherwise, then of course I would take that into consideration. If you have a word of advice, then give it to me. I am not above making mistakes and taking advice. As far as the local offer on the block, perhaps I should have taken it. At that time I wanted him to go up $500 more, and he would not. Again, free market. If you are just being critical (which I get the feeling you are, if not, then I apologize to you) then I would not sell this block to you for any price!
In this and other posts you seem to like to play the game of "catching" people and I find it more than a little annoying. IF you have a valid beef, or if something has been misrepresented, then point it out. This is America (or at least it was, after the federal government and the insurance co's response to Katrina I am not so sure anymore) and how the free market works. Of course, this is just my opinion. If there was a block on ebay, still in the crate, and a L78 to boot for 2k, then someone got a great deal. Good for them. If this block is that overpriced, then it will not sell. Again, the free market at play. I got hate mail about that rusty RS/Z-28 over what I wanted for it, but it sold within hours of being listed. Then the new owner flipped it for almost $10,0000.00 more than I sold it to him for. Again, free market at play. Good for him. Everything you buy has been bought and sold several times over, and most of the time marked up 100% or more. This is the way america works. {Caution - Rant Starts Here......... } To many people in our society want things "given" to them. What happened to grow up, get an education and work had for the things you want. And for the record, I was a mechanics son, whose father had a 7th grade education. I wore hand me down clothes to public school and started working at 13 years old. I worked hard, went to school and I paid for everything I wanted for myself. I joined the Air Force to get an education, served during Desert Storm, then came back and completed my education. I own a business now and still put in long days, but can afford most of what I would like to have. So I have been there and done that when it comes to saying work hard for what you want. {getting off of soap box...........}

Ok Rich, first off you can get off your soapbox. Did I tell you tell you to sell it?? No! I said let it run and see what happens, I didn't tell you to sell it. If my comment offended you..tough! Get over it! Go back and read what I said.
My other comments were directed towards the sale of the L78 for $2000.00 and not related to the sale of your motor. Honestly I could give a !@#$%^ whether you think my posts are are annoying or not. I don't answer to you or anybody else for that matter. I don't play any game, I tell it like it is and I don't hold back. Some people (like you) have a problem with that and others do not. Frankly I don't care, you post your feeelings about it then expect me to post my reply. Good luck with your sale, Rich. Rick H. |

So, if you find something "cheap", then you want two of em? Why not offer the guy MORE than what he is asking to be "fair"? (Damn, gotta lose some weight, this soap box is fallin' apart........)
