Yes it was discussed here earlier. The TA on top of the pile is Colin's. He is a sponsor of this site.

The Cobra was a 289, still valuable. I was on the inside of the retaining wall watching my friend with #64 Corvette when the accident took place. Spent the day with him yesterday in Illinois, his car is repaired and he's vintage racing it again.

The #25 AC Cobra is owned and driven by Fritz Schiffmeyer (IL) and the car is currently being put back into 'racing trim' for next season.

Sorry, your right his 427 cobra he doesn't race... A friend of mine was ahead of the crash... Watched from the food stand where you can see corner #14 and corner #5... Saw them come up the hill to start, but a long time to get to corner #5 then the race was over...Crash

That picture leaves me speechless! Can you imagine the
pain of seeing any one of those cars in that condition.
To say nothing of the whole lot of them. What a sad
development. Anyone know how this happened?
Steve

Much has been written in Vintage Motorsport about this accident the last two issues. They really got into detail with the most recent issue. I've visited with a few folks involved but there is still some controversy about just what happened at the start of this race. I really thought that the driver of the '65 yellow Corvette roadster was gone when I ran to the scene. He climbed out of the passenger door with no injury.
