Sure thing as soon as I figure out how to post them.

Email the pictures to me, I'll post them for you. I totally agree with the advise COPO gave you. Get ahold of Joel Rosen, and have that Nova of yours documented. Sure, it will cost you $1,500.00, but if it turns out to be an "authentic" 69 BM Nova, you won't be sorry in the long run, that's if you ever need to sell it. I would much rather have Joel's approval and signed certificate, than what the original owner told you. Good luck!

Wow! Cool pic

Might this car be the mag article car? Did this car ever go to Puerto Rico?

Someone else asked me the same thing on another message board I joined a while back and I had no idea about that article until it was pointed out to me. When I saw it I was stunned by how much it looks like my car, if not identical in every way. However, I do not know if it is the "article" car but it sure is a dead ringer for it though. When I found the car in NJ, eventhough I had never seen a Motion Nova before, from everything I knew about Motion cars back then, I was pretty sure this had to be one as the clues were there upon closer inspection. So I took a chance and made an offer and apparently the kid I bought it from didn't know any better and at the time he needed the money more than the car.

Hello Members....just thought I'd respond to this post as I came across it several weeks ago while doing research on this car that was for sale on ebay back in August/September 2005.

I am the new owner of the car this thread was started for. Let me first start by saying I am a newbie to this site as well as the muscle car forum...being a Gen-X "kid" of 36 years old...I admittedly have come from a hobby of import sports cars...and am just getting my feet wet in your area of expertise. Don't get me wrong...I do know a small bit about these cars...and was actually pursuing the purchase of a '69 Yenko Camaro or Chevelle (tribute car admittedly) as lack of funds would not allow the purchase of a genuine Yenko car.
That is what led me to this car as I trolled Ebay and other sites like collectcartraderonline.com looking for the right car. For those of you on this board who have authentic Yenko's, Baldwin's etc...I am not intending any disrespect by joining your forum with what admittedly is likely not even a Motion "worked" car as was advertised initally by the seller.
As the seller stated, although the story did change here and there each time it was told to me, the "story" is that the car was a Nova that the owner either took to Motion for some "work" and parts installation, or more likely ordered Motion parts via their mail-order catalog to build a tribute car, conversion, clone...whatever your favorite term is for this type of car. As stated, there is no physical proof or paperwork to verify either story...so it could be a total fake Motion reference other than a few emblems and stickers. I bought the car in full knowledge this is likely just a tribute car with possibility of some Motion parts (or comparable parts) with no way to prove any lineage even if any ever existed.
As stated by some other posts earlier in the thread, I think it's a pretty cool looking car...the Vette sidepipes, Motion hood and 427 badges do turn heads and garner questions even though I've only had the car about 3 weeks and have driven the car about 50 miles total. I got the car for my wife and I to do some summer cruising in and maybe go to a few local car shows for fun.
This car is not in show condition as the paint on the hood, roof, and trunk has seen better days do to sitting outside for some period of time. But overall the car seems to run and drive pretty solid, non-numbers matching of course...
Anyway, if anyone is local to me and would like to check out the car and maybe tell me for sure what parts may or may not be Motion or similar COPO parts, so that I truly know what I have or don't have...I would appreciate that very much. While the car is for fun...I do like to be honest with people who will ask questions about it being a BM car...and want to know the truth myself so I know what I have. I'm not sure taking it to a local "speed shop" will help me answer any of those questions, and so I am here to get any help or additional information I can....again...so that I know what I have when speaking about it, and speaking in relation to real Motion cars as well.
I do have a '71 Motion Performance catalog to match part numbers. Any comments or assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Here is what the car supposedly has that is either Motion or comparable:

1971 427 CE engine with Motion valve covers - unknown cam, although "story" is possible L-88 - not holding my breath on that one.

Competition 400 which now has Hurst 1/4 stick - was 3 speed on the column

4.10 Posi 12 bolt rear

'67 Vette sidepipes

Disc brakes?

Multileaf springs and drag shocks with traction masters

"Motion" fiberglass hood

Has Holley 850 carb that came with car with not installed

No actual Motion emblems other than valve covers...a few stickers, and the SS427 emblems.
