71 Motion Nova?

sorry if this is a dupe...I just saw this on E Bay...pretty cool if it's claimed lineage can be proved.

I have a feeling this is going to get interesting. Soooo.

Would these cars have drum front brakes? I am not up to snuff on these cars but that drum brake master cylinder sort of makes me what to go... Uhhh?? https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/imag...lins/dunno.gif

Any car could be taken to Motion Performance for work, so this car could have been worked on by Motion. Not saying it was, just saying it's possible. Without receipts or other bona-fide paperwork it's all speculation.

There's at least one Baldwin-Motion '68 Camaro with drum brakes all around.

Re: 71 Motion Nova?

Ok but would Motion have put in a BE rear in a 1971 Nova? Or the 67 Vette sidepipes in 1971?

He clearly claims a true Motion performance conversion from the 1970's. Pretty strong statement with no paperwork to back it up.

Anybody have the advertisement he also claims backs up this car??

Re: 71 Motion Nova?

Who knows? Maybe the owner bought a used 12-bolt that happened to be a BE-code unit and Motion installed it during the upgrade. In 1971 Corvette sidepipes were not as desireable/hoardable as they are today. The owner might have just bought a used set from a wrecking yard and had Motion install them. Again, no paperwork means anything is possible but nothing can be proved.

Maybe you missed this from the other thread.

Response from the Seller:

Hi,
The story and I emphasize "story"...is that the car was built at Motion and
came out of Pennsyvania a few years back.I have no physical proof of this and I
am offering no more than what you see.

If he felt it was legit, surely he would have spent the $1,500 to find out.

Re: 71 Motion Nova?

August 1967 rear end, not a BE rear. Sounds like some people are interested in a gamble as the seller said he has been offerred above the reserve to end the auction early from a few parties.
