![]() I was given free tickets to the K&N supernationals and went last Sunday, that was fun! Sat in the hospiltality tent with Tim Wilkerson's Funny car and watched them take the car apart because he did not advance to the 2nd round (too bad). Tim talked to us about bobbling the pre stage and stage lights because of a sticky hand brake. Use the 3M stuff that Mike posted. John, GM used the snout on a lot of cars during 69-72, but they have to come from a manual trans car, which makes them rare. Even 67-68s are close, but sometimes they were mounted upside-down, so the snout faces up instead of down. no prob, just reverse it. Keep hunting swap meets and ebay. Last resort is find a repro cheap and harvest the horn. If you drill through the spot welds, it is fine, but you just have to fill and smooth (outside and inside)more to get the correct "look". Steve is right about the metal, it caves under heat. lowest MIG setting just blows through. Good luck!
