Default Re: 12 Bolt Axles worn

Hi! I am currently having one of my 2 axles done at one of the top 2 shops in the country. My one axle had a runout of .020...I believe; dont quote me! He has gauranteed to me that he can fix it. I will go by there in the next week and get his process that he used for you. Bear with me, I have limited time frames to do even my own stuff! I will get back to you! He had a very interesting adjustable plane shop tool that pinned the axle and had a slide base to adjust to the axle length, A very nice piece I might add! With an magnetic base dial gauge, adjusted the tool to read the surface at a fixed pointe; then manually turned the fixed wheel at one end to obtain the 360*'s neccessary to read the runout of wear. I am still learning his process. I will give you a more detailed answer in a few days!
