As far as I know all of the 70 L78 Camaro’s built had the Dual Snorkel air cleaner.
That was probably the first thing changed, I know I would have taken that BIG A$$ air cleaner off if I had brought an L78 back in the day. The AIR and exhaust was probably the second thing that was swapped out. If we only knew then what we know now…… BTW, The air cleaner was a CO code on the Camaro build sheet also.. Mark L

All cars had buildsheets, just so happens not many from Norwood left with the cars. They are out there though.

Dual snorkel air cleaners were used on the some later L78 Novas. The latest car I have that I can document the open element on is feb/70. I have a 1st week of july car but it did not come with an air cleaner. The buy it now price of $2600 is more than I paid for my first L78 car in 1974. Wow! How things have changed!!

Well, the seller wrote to me today and said while he was packing it up he noticed one snorkel was attached differently. I still bought it, curious to see what its like when it gets here. Maybe there will be a HOMEMADE stamp after all.

Jason, did you buy the one pictured in your previous post? I see the ebay item is barely past 1000 with less than 3 days remaining. Is there some doubt to this part being authentic?

![]() Build sheets are “Extremely Rare” in Norwood built Camaro’s but a few cars slipped through with them, from what I understand they were very strict about leaving them in the cars at Norwood…. Mark L

Rare original 1970 Chevelle unit for an LS6 or L78, twin snorkel type. Has a little pitting in the inside of the housing at the bottom. All together a really nice piece, not brand new, but very showable for most cars. The chrome is excellent on the lid. You won't find too many chances at an item this rare. Also fits a 1970 Camaro with the L78 Thanks for looking and bidding! [/ QUOTE ] Jason with a description like that they had to notice it was put together differently on one side .....
