Leeds Chevelles also used it quite heavily though they did not leave much exposed. The trunk area is where it was mostly visable. The Van Nuys cars also showed a lot in the rear gas tank area.

Belair, in answer to your question, it is a little more lavender/maroon than red oxide primer.

I can't find anything on my car that color. Not below nor above nor inside. Yes.....my car has been repainted, but not everywhere. It has a Jan. 1970 date and it's a Nova.

My Jan 1970 Gobi Beige Nova used the red primer. I thought the under side was gray so I bought gray paint. After I scrubbed the underside I saw tons of red. One place to look (might have told you this already) was under in the rear wheels near the quater lip. Take a plastic scub brush and water based degrease to clean it up.
