I've seen Red Oxide primer on Arlington Tx. built Chevelles.
Besides Willow Run,have you seen it used on anyother plants/cars?

I have really only researched the Novas, specifically only those produced at Willow Run, MI. So, I can't really say what other plants may have used. Anyone else? (Sully or Gregg?)

Leeds Chevelles also used it quite heavily though they did not leave much exposed. The trunk area is where it was mostly visable. The Van Nuys cars also showed a lot in the rear gas tank area.
Belair, in answer to your question, it is a little more lavender/maroon than red oxide primer.

Hey Marlin, Our Matador red Judge has the Ruddy primer on it and was built in Pontiac, In the picture it's hard to see the primer from the paint, Car is original paint

I have seen Gray, Ruddy Red, and Black. I am not sure if it is realted to the top color or different batches used. Willow Run cars were batched painted at Fisher Body. May be that has something to do with it. Greg
