If I could buy a brand new, carb-to-pan crate Mark IV L72 from my Chevy dealer today for $7,970.00 I'd jump on it. Nickey sold them new in '67 for $797.00 so that's a 10-fold inflation rate.

My math: My Dad bought one of the last new '67 Austin Healey 3000's and paid $4500. A similar sports car today would have to be in the $40,000 range. My parents bought a new house in '68 for $33K (California) and similar houses where I live in Washington are at least $300K today. Maybe my math's a little "fuzzy" but we're just goofing off here right?
