The Factroy Stock Muscle Car Drags was the event that was held recently. I had planned on taking the Camaro, but couldn't make it. But, from what I have gathered from the guys that went, it was a great event. Here is a link to the page:

As for the small block build-up though, I'm not gonna be much help. I would say that maybe a 383 combo would be the easiest way to get to the power output you are looking for.
