Thanks for posting the article on the Black Panther Camaro. What magazine was that in? It is interesting to read some of the descriptions such as when they refer to the 427Ãs wide torque curve as œhappily burble along at 30 in top”. The name given to the car may have hurt the U.S. sales because of the controversial Black Panther Party in the USA that was founded in 1966

The Magazine is Canada Track & Traffic May 1967 ( It have an error on the book, on the first page, its write May 1967 so in the book its write May 1966. I don' t know what is the error. ) In the history of Camaro, the name Panther is one of the names proposed for this car. A guy contact me by e-mail and he have infos about 2 Camaro Black Panther. I tell you if I have news about this. |

I noticed in the pictures that they show three different cars. A standard Camaro, an SS Camaro, and the third is an RS SS Camaro. The underhood picture is a small block engine. Would the Canadian govenernment records show how many 427 replacement engines were imported by Gorries Downtown Chevrolet in 1967?
