I have a pictures of a Camaro Black Panther in a old magazine(a old ads from Gorries Chevrolet)and a performance test in the same magazine (scanning coming soon) The Car tested in the magazine The car is black with Gold Bumblebee stipes +pinstriping The specification is engine 427 12.1 Cr 435 HP Gearbox 4-Speed Manual 1st 2.52: 4.10 posi Brakes 4-drum 10' Wheels 14' mag (style magnum) tires 8.55x14 Uniroyal Tiger Paws The engine was fully blueprinted balanced ported and polished and the carburator is a Holley 925cfm 4 Bbl Yes Arnold the car was built by a Toronto-Based Gorries Chev,-Olds dealership |

Thanks for posting the article on the Black Panther Camaro. What magazine was that in? It is interesting to read some of the descriptions such as when they refer to the 427Ăs wide torque curve as śhappily burble along at 30 in top”. The name given to the car may have hurt the U.S. sales because of the controversial Black Panther Party in the USA that was founded in 1966

I noticed in the pictures that they show three different cars. A standard Camaro, an SS Camaro, and the third is an RS SS Camaro. The underhood picture is a small block engine. Would the Canadian govenernment records show how many 427 replacement engines were imported by Gorries Downtown Chevrolet in 1967?
