I'd sure want the original "born with" block if it was my car, but like you said Mitch a lot of people are happy with #'s matching. It's a shame what that phrase has been reduced to over the years IMO.

I hear ya and I'm with ya. The "investment grade" resellers of 20-25 yrs ago twisted the terms we had used for some time to suit their own needs and this is where we are today. Lots of loopholes when it comes to "original" now...

I never,ever take "matching numbers" to mean the original born with engine or Trans today.
Anytime I see "matching numbers",I call it what it really is,a re-stamp. |
