I don't know if it would be possible to go lighter or change from a color like blue to red. Light green to black should be doable. I have also seen guys spray belts with fabric dye and the results are not very good. The belts get stiff and just don't look right. Find a crappy belt and start with that. That way you won't ruin a nice set that are just the wrong color.

Jason, that's correct. You can dye light to dark but cannot dye dark to light.

Paul - I suggest you contact Charlie Santorelli of Seatbelt Sity. He's the best, old school seatbelt guy this hobby has. Whether you need the belts cleaned, dyed, restored, repaired, etc, he is your guy.
