I think he means "842" heads...this was the second design big block aluminum head produced...it was never used on the ZL-1.

I was just wondering if these 074 heads were possibly a service replacement or over the counter sale. I just have not seen a date cast like this in any set of 074 heads I have seen. Almost all the ones I have seen have been 69. Have not seen a 68 set yet and thats what got me wondering if they maybe just cast the date in 1968 built heads differently.

Well finally found out, He had given me the wrong heads. This engine does run an 842 head, not an 074. Thanks for the input everyone!!
