Default Re: The BOSS is back!!!

take it from lifetime GM guy.. Ford IS leading the pack.. Drive em both.. The 550 hp GT500 is out now.. (Ford has a bolt on 750 hp kit for it too)It will beat the (maybe??) Z28 just like the GT is faster and handles better then the Z28. Face it GM is not the GM we all once knew.. *sigh*

With GM taking the govt $$ was the nail in its coffin. Ford is making billions and never took a dime.. Cause they build cars people want.. The last privately owned American car company..

<div class="ubbcode-block"><div class="ubbcode-header">Originally Posted By: talwell</div><div class="ubbcode-body">By no way does Ford set the standards and Chevy follows. This is far from factual. As was stated, the 2010 Camaro was the first year release and wiped out all the competition. For 2011 Ford responded with a very nice and well equipped Mustang. But fret not, Chevy is testing the Z-28 now. This car is rumored to be LSA based and be running around the 550hp mark.

Apples for apples - the GT needs to be compared to the SS and the Boss or GT500 needs to be compared to the coming Z-28.

If any 2011 Mustang owners want to see what Chevy has in store for them in regards to future beat downs, just dare try to pull a light on a CTS-V Cadillac. This is a supercharged LSA powered monster and pumps out over 550hp.

Even with this said, we have not even started talking about Ford competing with the Z06 or the ZR1. So, unfortunately I think you are very flawed in your statement of Ford leading the pack.

But with all this new found muscle car wars comes the treasures to the consumers. Who would have thought 5 years ago Detroit would be rolling out cars that have HP levels never before seen in production cars.

I am in my glory now as this is like living he late 1960's all over again. </div></div>

Makes little difference to me as I'm not a Rustang guy but the new Boss would've looked better w/ the '70 Boss striping instead of the '69 style!.

Remember, they only ran the Boss in 69 an 70. Maybe this new Boss is the 69 and the following year boss will be dressed like the 70!

FYI...It was a loan and GM has paid it back. As a matter of fact, all 3 US automakers are seeing profits. That hasn't happened since 2004.

Ford is doing a great job but so is GM and Chrysler. As someone said before....this is the 60's all over again between the new musclecars.

Keep them coming!!!

incorrect. GM took some of the money they got on loan and paid THAT back to the gov't saying they paid some of the the loan back.. How underhanded..

I think Ford is doing it right and GM has a difficult road to recover. They have not paid back the bailout money and are beholden to the Unions and Obama. The results are cars like the $41K Volt that goes 40 miles on a charge...good grief. They are destined to build a bunch of government mandated cars that no one wants. I still don't think the Z will make it though the red tape, gotta watch those CAFE numbers, but one can hope.

Ford has the freedom to build cars people want like the Boss 302, hopefully it is not too late for GM but time is running out.

Until the government gets out of the car business, I am a Ford buyer.
