WOW! How much longer until Chevy responds with the Z28 and Dodge with Challenger TA's?

Even the new 5.0 Mustang beats a new Camaro SS or Challenger SRT8,
Chevrolet and Dodge are way behind FORD. I bought a 2007 GT500 Shelby back in late 2006 and only the Corvettes give me a hard time but they are a sport car anyways. Ford always sets the standards or pushes the envelope first, Camaro(Chevrolet) and Challenger(Dodge) are still behind.

I agree that Ford has for the last few years eaten GM and Chrysler's lunch, but as you know, it wasn't always that way.
With some luck, maybe GM and Chrysler will regain their financial footing and embrace the enthusiast vehicles again and put up a good fight against Ford.

That is a very impressive story on how the Ford engineers made sure everything was thought through and correct to live up to the legendary Boss name before they would release the car. Wow.

Chevrolet is way behind. I don't think so. They may have come to the party late, but the only reason for the hp increase in the 2011 Mustang is due to the competition from Chevy. In this case, Chevy set the standard for performance for Ford, and price for Chrysler. 3. In 2007, what competition besides a Corvette did your GT500 have to compete with? All the comparisons beteeen a base 400hp Corvette and the GT500 in national magazines were in the Vettes favor in every category except "room for four." It's not GM's fault that except for 2005-2006 Ford has no entry in the sports car field to compete against. Don't get me wrong, I own plenty of Fords, and I'm not bashing Ford. It's the raising of the bar by each manufacturer that raises all ships. No matter who you pull for it's possible to point to a period in time where your team set the standard.

I was a GM guy all my life but now a Ford man.. No comparison guys.. The Mustang is light years ahead of the Camaro and Challanger.. The 10 Mustang GT with the old 4.6 motor is still a way better car then the Camaro.. Almost as fast too.. The Camaro is a fat, oversized and poorly engineered car.. Sorry to say. It ain't the Camaro we all know and love.

While the Camaro is a little heavier (300lbs), it's a LOT faster than the 4.6....almost a full second in the 1/4 mile.
http://www.popularmechanics.com/cars...risons/4309423 Ford is definitely on top of things but it's no secret that the Camaro is a close second in the 2011 cars. The Challenger is not even close in performance or price. IMO Although a great looking car.

By no way does Ford set the standards and Chevy follows. This is far from factual. As was stated, the 2010 Camaro was the first year release and wiped out all the competition. For 2011 Ford responded with a very nice and well equipped Mustang. But fret not, Chevy is testing the Z-28 now. This car is rumored to be LSA based and be running around the 550hp mark.
Apples for apples - the GT needs to be compared to the SS and the Boss or GT500 needs to be compared to the coming Z-28. If any 2011 Mustang owners want to see what Chevy has in store for them in regards to future beat downs, just dare try to pull a light on a CTS-V Cadillac. This is a supercharged LSA powered monster and pumps out over 550hp. Even with this said, we have not even started talking about Ford competing with the Z06 or the ZR1. So, unfortunately I think you are very flawed in your statement of Ford leading the pack. But with all this new found muscle car wars comes the treasures to the consumers. Who would have thought 5 years ago Detroit would be rolling out cars that have HP levels never before seen in production cars. I am in my glory now as this is like living he late 1960's all over again. |
