Default 4 speed location

Hi,
Can anyone out there tell me the location of the 4-speed shifter hole in a new "patch" tunnel piece? No one makes a templet. My car (68 camaro) is originally 4-speed but the hole has been cut out more & more. Now I have a turbo 400 but, I'm putting the 4-speed back in & I don't know where to put the hole for the shifter! Thanks! Justin.

These are for a 69, but I believe location is the same. The 69 was cut out with a torch, but I believe the 68 is clean cut. Someone in the know correct me please, if I am wrong.

That is interesting about the way the hole is cut out in 69. Thanks for sharing, I do appreciate it very much. Justin.

I have a 68 Camaro 4-speed with an unmolested shifter hole. It's clean cut with a ring welded on the underneath side. I'll see if I can move the console and look at the shifter hole.

Martin: I was pretty sure the 68 was clean cut. Couldn't remember for sure if it was reinforced. I have a buddy restoring a 68 z right now, but am pretty sure it spent a few years as a drag car, so it is probably cut up. Pics would be great, and I am sure Justin would appreciate it as well.

Correct, Beater is a clean hole with a ring on the underside if he needs a pic I can get one, you do not need to move your console mine is to the bare floor now, mine is there but has been cut on the side for another shifter at one time.
