I have seen both long and short. Most of the long ones were used in 70. Ranges from 1 3/4 " to 2 1/2". Probably prepping for three letter codes. Also could have been a Engine plant difference.
Back then they were just stickers used until the engine made it into the car. No big deal if the came in different size, not like they would have send them back. If anything I would be more concerned about the font shape and size. Greg
