A friend of mine had a Canadian built 300 HP 350, 4 speed, console, gauges, tach, 12 bolt posi and had to SS clone it to get the money out of it.

Huh You mean to say that he really tried and failed to sell the car as a numbers matching, Canadian documented original Malibu with a 350/300, M20, buckets, console, gauges......and was able to make more money on it after spending $$$ to convert it into an SS396 clone? That's a bit hard to believe, unless the ultimate buyer was not made aware that it was a clone.

The original motor was broke bad. He had it for sale and no takers so he cloned the car as a SS. He was upfront about the car being a clone and still sold it to the first person to look at it.
