Default rakio delete plate

There are two different woodgrain radio delete plates. One has the two studs holding the woodgrain on and the other is glued. Are both of these original factory production methods and do they represent time periods in production with the stud type stopping at a certain date? I could not find any previous discussion on this, if there is please let me know.
