Default The V-8 engine

Mr. Ford, the 50-year-old great-grandson of the company’s founder, Henry Ford, said the passing of the V-8 era is somewhat bittersweet for baby boomers like him.

“We all grew up when the coolest guy on the block had the most cubic inches under the hood,” he said. “That feeling dies hard.”

An article of BS. "Sales of V8's of dropped sharply" when the included graph shows sales of V6 cars are off at the identical ramp rate.

As my Dad used to say, Figures don't lie but liars sure can figure. Anything to make a story. That being said, my wife's baby, a no winters, '97 Olds LSS with the supercharged 3.8 is as smooth as any V8 I have ever owned and more powerful too. They are getting V8 power out of the smaller V6 engines. Small supercharged engines are more than likely in our future.

I think the v8 is on a big come back
I have a i line 6 in my grand cherokee I am geting 10 mpg in the city my son has the v8 in his grand cherokee and is geting 16 mpg with out even trying the 3.8 gm motor is not bad but the v8 are getting much better mpg and will last much longer
me I like the in inline 6 they seen to Bullet proof and every one that has one says they last for ever witch is what I wanted the inline 6 will not win any races what gets me is my son has a 4.7 v8 in his jeep and it gets better gas mileage and that thing is fast as heck Belive it or not I had it out one day and blew off a 5.0 Mustang
take out a Grand Cherokee SRT 8 with the Hemi that beast is a 11 sec brick every one around here is going back to the V8s just look and the baby blazer with the 2.8 V6 now that thing is a real dog
