As my Dad used to say, Figures don't lie but liars sure can figure. Anything to make a story. That being said, my wife's baby, a no winters, '97 Olds LSS with the supercharged 3.8 is as smooth as any V8 I have ever owned and more powerful too. They are getting V8 power out of the smaller V6 engines. Small supercharged engines are more than likely in our future.

I think the v8 is on a big come back
I have a i line 6 in my grand cherokee I am geting 10 mpg in the city my son has the v8 in his grand cherokee and is geting 16 mpg with out even trying the 3.8 gm motor is not bad but the v8 are getting much better mpg and will last much longer me I like the in inline 6 they seen to Bullet proof and every one that has one says they last for ever witch is what I wanted the inline 6 will not win any races what gets me is my son has a 4.7 v8 in his jeep and it gets better gas mileage and that thing is fast as heck Belive it or not I had it out one day and blew off a 5.0 Mustang take out a Grand Cherokee SRT 8 with the Hemi that beast is a 11 sec brick ![]() |
