Default California Wild Fires

One of our members here, Mark( Late BrakeU2 ) lives in the danger zone here in Malibu. Here are some shots from his place Sunday afternoon. The wind is just insane and there are fires all over Southern California. I spoke with him this morning in between his power going on and off ( no cell service up there) He had gone down the hill to gather more supplies, he's got his 7 Dogs up there with him. (Pictured is Max). Good luck Mark!

these wildfires remind me of the oct 2003 firestorm we had that devasted socal . i live in long beach and the closest fire is about 20 miles away and last night the air was thick with smoke . you could barely take a breathe without choking and this morning it's a spooky looking orange colored sky around here .

Good to see you post Bart. I almost called Mark...after calling my best friend from high school (also Mark) who told me that the fires were in Malibu...and that they had wind gusts of 108 mph on Satuday night

We will hope for the best. The fire departments out there are second to none...

They are also fires farther south as I just heard from 3 relatives that have been evacuated from the north part of san diego. One was in a rest home and is now in a box at qualcom stadium.. what a way to get box seats. I hope they get it under control soon.

One of the many fires in the Valencia area is in Stevenson Ranch near Magic Mountain and it appears to be heading over the hill to Porter Ranch, that's where we live. The packing has started and the cars are backed in the driveway. I told my wife our daughter can drive my car and leave hers behind, I'm taking the '69 if we get the order to evacuate. Last time there was a fire this size we had a pumper in the street all night watching over us.

I really hope Mark is OK. He's had no power, no cell service and the fire was headed straight for his home according to news reports.
