Default 11 sec Jeep

Here is a SRT 8 grand cherokee running at Atco
You have to remeber that this one is in four wheel drive all the time and this beast is heavy as a brick and it is running 1/4 mile in the mid 11s
Now that is some horse power

That great Sorry I missed you I had it all planed to be there hell I was suppose to be judging
My son got engaged a few weeks ago then the night before the show he tells me and my wife that he made reservations at a restaurant to meet his g/f parents and I just could not get out of it. Like my wife said there will be other shows but family come first.
I have to tell you I could kick my self When I bought my 04 Grand Cherokee I went with the in line six because they seem to last for ever. Was looking at a STR 8 Grand at Barbera’s the other day .they have few of them. Jeno wanted me to test drive one but I said no I know once I got in it there was no going back. Also on disability does not help in the money dept. my wife would have killed me snice she just got laid off from her job
They were looking at about 45.000 for the SRT 8. My 2004 six cylinder Grand Cherokee is paid off and it is pretty loaded up with a lot of goodies
So for now I will just have keep my slow poke Now if I would hit the lottery it would be the STR 8 Grand or my be the new Challenger Ok I can dream
By the way I have a friend that I used to work with at PSFS that has a GNX with about 500 miles on it has not moved it in years It has four car covers on it and is on blocks in his garage was look at this past Saturday I was kidding him to take it out but he will not take it out

nos and motor work. Take a look at his pic files and you will see the motor as a short block. It takes quite a bit of HP to make a 5000 lb car run mid 11's

I have a 2007 SRT8 GC that is my daily driver. These things are super stout right from the factory, 1/4 mile in the high 12's at 106, 0-60 in low 4 second range. They hook up awesome and make all their time in the first 60 feet.

I can easily see how a guy with nitrous can get one into the low-12's. The main problem is the computer programing and the electronic throttle, etc. Supposedly the factory tune only gives 70% throttle in 1st gear and total timing is about 11 degrees when the engine is warm. You can NOT turn off the traction control. I was just told somebody cracked the code to have the ECU tuned to give 100% throttle and about 19 degrees timing. There is also a mod to override the traction control.

I will let you know how it works as soon as the nice UPS man
brings my ECU back!

All I can say is that out of the box these things are a hell of a sleeper car. Who woulda thought, an SUV that runs high 12's stock and is $40k brand new. I remember not that long ago buying an S10 Blazer with a 2.8L V-6 that you almost had to get out and push if you hit some old chewing gum in the Wal-Mart parking lot

The transfer case is electronic, comes in after a limited amount of rear wheel spin. Mine will spin all 4 tires until the traction control crashes the party. Lots of guys pull the relay for the traction control and/or transfer case but that sets a code and kills the ABS, etc. Pulling the transfer case relay makes it a 2wd. Rest assured, guys have been snipping wires and pulling fuses on these to get "big brother" out since the first one was sold

Me, I'm just thinking of running a throttle cable from the pedal to the throttle body and bypassing all of that computer crap
