Default '68-'72 Nova Grill To Bumper Filler Panel.....

Greetings!
My first official post here, but I've been lurking for a while and have sure learned alot of great resto and tech tips from you all. My son and I are currently restoring our 1970 Acadian which is our Canadian version of the Nova, and the resto is going very well.
I just purchased from GM a new grill filler piece that goes between the grill and bumper to replace the cracked original. The new version seems to be made from a different type of plastic (or perhaps the original is just so aged and brittle that it feels different) and I'm looking for what is the best argent silver type of paint to get the closest correct finish for this piece. The original's silver seemed to be a duller semi gloss type of silver, would just a coat of base argent silver be best? I think if it was cleared it would appear too glossy. Any tips or ideas for the best approach to making it look correct are very appreciated. Thanks!
