The closest thing a third gen Fbody got to being a "COPO" were the 88-92 RPO 1LE delete option cars.Lots of 82-84 fbod's were optioned with the crossifre enigne, not as exclusive as he is aluding to and 2600 mi is not "brand new" IMO

Looking at the odometers 1st digit 0 looks a tad lower than the 2nd digit 0, meaning the odometer has been around once.

Which means, that like JL8 in 69, while rare, not a COPO. Anyone who knew could order JL8 (when it was available). Probably the same here? CRG might have more info on how this RPO was setup???

There might have been only 122 Canada market LU5's produced-but almost 20K fbod's came with them. The much rarer motor for that year was the L69 5.0 H.O.(with Rochester 4bbl and dual snorkel)at a little over 3k units built.

Just my .02 [/ QUOTE ] Hello Mark, The photos of the under the hood tells you something of condition. The photo of the drivers side door panel and driver seat condition. What do you think of the overall condition? You statement about the odometer reading? How many miles do you think the car was driven? Regards, Drew Papsun |

At the Atlantic City Collector Car Auction this past February there was a 1983 Pontiac 25th Anniversary Daytona Pace Car edition Trans Am with 163 miles still on MSO!!!
This certainly isn't the lowest mile 3rd gen in existance. I'm sure there are even examples with less than 163 miles (not many, but I'm sure someone has one out there). |
