Diesel Tow vehicle options

I'm looking for a new tow rig and have been a Suburban guy forever but I really want a diesel.

The Ford Excursion has got me interested and have heard that the 6.0 (available since mid 03 I think) is supposed to be better than the 7.3, any opinions?
