I'm trying to figure our a couple of minor mysteries on my TransAm's trim tag.
Line#1 - 71-22887 L 02607 71 Firebird TransAm built in VanNuys, body #02607 Line#2 - TR 219 11 11 Black trim, Cameo white, but why are there two paint numbers(the 11) instead of one? Line#3 - 09c 022024 150357 Car was built the third week of September. But, the other two numbers are a mystery. Can anyone help? Thanks, John

I believe the 11 11 means upper and lower body colors, ie both the top and lower part of the car were painted the same color. The remaining two numbers were internal scheduling codes used at the LA plant which do not have any useful information that I know of. My 1970 LA built Z-28 has the same codes.

Thanks guys. Yes, the car was cameo white with blue stripe, so the "11 11" makes sense.

022024 150357 is the DP Sequence No. It will appear on the build sheet and was used for processing and linking together all production departments throughout the facility, part of an electronic "broadcasting" system that assures that the correct parts and accessories for a given car will arrive at the proper place at exactly the right time.
They put it on the tag so as to be able to ID the body when it arrived in the body bank in the final assembly plant. GMAD plants assembly and supplied sub-assemblies for many different GM Models. DP - Data Processing
