Default muscle car junk yard found (a little late)

I was at a swap meet and a guy told me he had several camaro ss cars for sale, so i went to have a look, what a shame these cars have rusted beyond repair, there must be 100 cars (mostly muscle cars) the owners father had collected these cars over the last 4 years, but refused to sell them, he wouldnt let anybody look at the cars because of people stealing parts at night,in short i wil just tell you there was alot of cars that would have ben nice to save 15 years ago, IE; 67 chevelle ss convert, torino cobra, ralley green charger, white on black gtx, red on red rs,ss, 67 camaro, the owners father had perted out several kool cars, boss 429 mustang (still has the complete drivetrain) 69 shelby mustang, I did buy some carbs and 5 of the cars, but most of them will be very hard to move and he wont sell parts off of them (yet), just thought i would share this experience with you, Rich (sorry i am haveing a hard time downloading pics for some reason?????????)

What is it about the human condition that makes people
horde stuff like this and then watch it waste away?

Last monday, my son's Kung Fu teacher told me about a guy with 42 muscle cars in his yard (he had over a hundred at one time) the teacher is a Mustang guy but he also has some Vettes and just bought a 68 Camaro. He is a honest guy and I have seen some of his cars so I do not think it is just a story so I asked him to try to wrangle me a invite to look over what is left of the 42, it might all be junk or I may not even get a chance to look but it is worth a try.

Unfortunately most of us I think probally know of a spot like you describe. The one that still sticks in my mind has dusters with the 340's still in them, probally 8-12 GTo's, chevelles with big blocks, etc.Apparently in the 60's and 70's the family owned a junk yard and had some deal with the insurance company on the smashed cars. Performance cars they aquired were taken from the junk yard pound and placed in a lower field on the family farm, where they sit today.
One brother took a passion to collecting any hood with a bump or scoop, plus 4 barrel and six pack air cleaners. No joke if there is not 200 air cleaners and 150 performance hoods in the cow barn there is not one. The stuff indoors was still good. They would not sell you anything but would trade only if you had something they wanted. I fluked that once about 10 years ago when they needed some 66 vet parts and that is how I got to see the stuff and ended up scraping a smashed complete 66 427 impala in the field. What was there, 427 motor right to the air cleaner, 4spd complete with the console, buckets, shifter, boots, tilt, tach, 3 ss hub caps and 12 bolt.
They are probally in their 60's now so hard to say what is going to take place.

I do not yet know...but that is less than 60 miles from me so it is a definite possibility. Soooo what do you know about this place?

I know that the the guy that owned it passed away awhile back and his son is selling some of the cars. I've bought a few parts from him when I had a 65/442 before he passed away.Don't know how much stuff he has now,but at one time had some pretty good parts.

I think you are talking about a guy named "Bobby". I asked last night and this guy is in Jonesborough,TN. My friend says "Bobby has good stuff" , the guy in Jonesborough HAD good stuff but all that is left now is junk.
