Googled:
Lane "American Eagle" Firebird (1967) (No substantial documentation is currently known of the existence of this dealer modification package, but here is the information that was provided to FirebirdGallery by a previous owner of one of these cars. Lane Buick Pontiac Olds in Fairfield, California decided to build a limited number (14 according to the source) of special '67 Firebirds with what they called the "American Eagle" package. The dealership started with either a Polar White or Montego Cream Firebird. Each came with a custom interior coded either red, black, or blue. Next the following modifications were applied: 1) A lucerne blue stripe was added running the length of the middle of the car. 2) The air cleaner, riser, valley pan, and master cylinder cover were chromed. 3) The A.I.R. pump and alternator were polished aluminum. 4) A heavy duty radiator and dual exhaust were added. 5) All emblems were inset with red paint, and the slits on the quarters received the same treatment. These cars were rated at 260hp. They were equipped with the 326 2bbl V8 and contained the same crank and cam as the 326 HO. They were also outfitted with consoles, floor shifters, power steering, Rally IIs, full rally gauges, and manual drum brakes.) |

did 1967 firebirds come with 4-piston calipers on the front disc brakes and 2 traction bars mounted to the rear axle?

They did have 4 piston disc brakes but as far as 2 traction bars... I doubt it but I do not know too much about firebirds.

the one I looked at at 2 traction bars mounted from the factory very close to the center of the rear end....about 2 inches from the hogs ...head on each side...

I have seen the 2 traction bars on 1967 Pontiac 400 Firebirds w/4 speed. I have also seen the dual traction bars on the 1967 Firebird Sprint 6 cars also equiped with the 4 speed.

This info is from the firstgenfirebird.org page....
67s breakdown: OHC-6 1bbl auto. none (exception is rear end ratio 323 or higher) OHC-6 1bbl man. RH side OHC-6 4bbl. auto. RH side OHC-6 4bbl. man. both sides V-8 2&4bbl. auto. RH side V-8 2&4bbl. man. both I also found that the rear end ratio or type in this case determined the option of one or two bars or radius rods. i.e. if a car has a 4 pinion rear end it will have both bars. this is for posi and open 4 pinion rears. traction bars are 67 only.

i owned a rough 67 firebird with a 12 bolt and 2 traction bars, was going to build a drag car out of it, dug up some info showing it to be a 400 4spd and sold it instead.
