...a close friend of mine who lives in Graham, N.C.
...and was a close friend fo Ronnie Sox
...got an email that he had passed away late yesterday
...( 4-23-06 )
...He had been strugling with cancer.
....I will look for a news article from the Richmond Times
..he had moved to Richmond, Va.
...My condolences to the family.
...A great legend ..will be missed.

Bad news. How old was he ? I remember seeing him and some of his cars in Hot Rod Magazine etc about 25-30 years ago. An era gone by.

My daughter was just at the Mopars at the strip in Vegas and helped action off some numbered prints and it raised 60,000 dollars towards cancer research in Ronnie's honor. Buddy Martin was there and he autographed the prints if the buyers wanted. Ronnie was a very humble and gracious man. I met him when I was 16 years old and I got to meet him again in 2000 and he signed some of my diecast and my racing jacket. I will never part with any of those items. He was and always will be my favorite racer.
