Is there any way through the DMV or another source a way to find out a car's Vin # like bought in 1969 If u have the persons first and last name and social number and place of purchase...I have contacted the STate of Missouri and they tell me know way cause there is no computer records that old...

i was told that the dmv only goes back 10 yrs or so. you have the name of the original owner but dont have a vin # ?

I had the same problem in Ky. I sold a car in 83, it was resold in 86 again in 88. then vanished. I got in touch with "The Tittle Archives" in Ky. They checked under my nsme for thr tttle being returnd sfter transfer to new owners. There it was VIN # & all. Give it a try Steve
