Off the top of my head I'm gonna say 66 Impala, 396/325 with Holley 4bbl carb. Sorry, I don't have my book with me.

Yes, the H means a Holly carb equiped engine. R means Rochester.
IVH is a 1966 396-325 HP L35 W/TH400 trans in the full size cars only IVR - ditto with Rochester There is also a 1966 IGH and IGR, same engine with Powerglide trans

thanx for the quick help.... I inherited this block(s) in some horse trading a few years back after the owner died... I wasn't sure about the *H* deal. I do know it came out of a '66 Caprice 396-325, 2 door automatic. Yellow, black top, white interior, exact same color scheme as the Z16 he traded in on it (i'm still trying to find this Z16 car)... except he managed to keep the original Z16 block somehow. Then he managed to keep the original block out of the Caprice, when he traded that for a red '70 SS396 Chevelle, of which I have the original 854 CKO block for the Chevelle too... the next vehicle he had was a 854 '71 TKB block(?), yup, I got that too... Somehow I also ended up with a '72 427 294 block... Must be nice to have been a Chevy dealer service manager at the time...
Jim Z16 block not for sale

btw
The fact it had a Holley had nothing to do with being anything special, like L78 or LS6 engines for example. Hollly, Rochester, Bay City were just OEM carb suppliers at the time. Note-1966 327-275 hp engines were like this also, the Holley and Rochester used different intakes on the small block and likely the big blocks, although I did have a 1966 Impala SS 396 back in 1966, I do not know what kind of carb is had and can't recall ever removing the air cleaner. Traded car in on 1970 LS5 in 1970. Must have been shortage of the new Q-jet to meet demand as it was only in 1966 that Holley was used like this. It was just on the high-perf engines in other years.
